Ever skipped a workout because of a crazy busy, exhausting week?

You’re not alone. It may seem like an excuse, but being too busy and tired is a legitimate obstacle to exercising regularly.

Here are 3 things you can do to make sure you are active each day, tired or not…

1. SNEAK YOUR EXERCISE IN

Exercise does not always have to take place in a formal setting, like a fitness class or gym. Just make a commitment to achieve more physical activity throughout the day through other means. Take the stairs at the office or train station.  Park further away from the grocery store and walk,  forcing you to walk more which can help you reach your aerobic activity goals for the day.

2. TEMPT YOURSELF WITH A REWARD

Rewarding yourself is an excellent way to turn exercise into a HABIT.  To set up a reward system, decide on the number of workouts you’ll commit to, then choose a reward that matches the effort you put in. A reward can be binge-watching your favorite show, buying a new piece of clothing, or getting a massage. (NOT FOOD, you are not a dog)

3. DO A LOW-INTENSITY WORKOUT

When you’re running low on fuel, try a calming exercise like yoga, pilates, tai chi, or even walking. Since it’ll feel more doable than a high-intensity workout, you’ll be more likely to do it. Coax a friend or family member  to join you.

Nobody is perfect and we all have days and weeks that we just cant do everything we set out to do. Don’t be hard on yourself, be creative and I’m sure you will find a way to move a little more each day… tired or not :)
